Moving from Shoptet to Shopify? Bring your Ellity.eu loyalty program with you

Ellity.eu is a loyalty program for Shoptet stores. When you replatform from Shoptet to Shopify, Ellity can't come with you — and the single scariest part of that move, for most merchants, is the loyalty program: thousands of customers with points they've been collecting for years, and the fear that they all reset to zero on launch day.

They don't have to. Charm has a built-in Ellity migration preset that takes one export and lands your whole program on Shopify: it even creates the Shopify customer accounts for members who haven't shopped there yet, imports every balance and VIP tier, and does it all without sending a single email. A few clicks, a ready-made program to land in, and a one-click undo if anything looks off.

The short version

1. Export your points from Ellity — Customer List → Export → Export Points (2 min)
2. Install Charm → Settings → Data migration → pick the Ellity preset (3 min)
3. Upload the export — Charm runs a dry-run, creates a plan for missing accounts, and shows resulting balances (auto)
4. Map your VIP tiers if the names differ, then import (email-silent, accounts created for you)
5. Go live on Shopify, send one comms email
6. Changed your mind? Revert restores the pre-import state in one click

Before you start

• Admin access to both — your Shoptet/Ellity admin to export, and a Shopify store with Charm installed.
• This is a whole-store move, so most members won't exist in Shopify yet. That's normal — the Ellity preset expects it and has "create missing Shopify customers" on by default, so Charm makes the accounts for you rather than skipping those rows.
• The migration tools are on every plan, Free included: the Ellity preset, account creation, dry-run, tier mapping, and revert. Pro and Plus add dedicated migration assistance if you'd rather we drive.
• Jot down your reward structure — point value, VIP tier names and thresholds. You'll recreate it in Charm, and Charm gives you a sensible default program to start from rather than a blank canvas (more on that below).

Step 1: Export your points from Ellity

In Ellity, go to Customer List → Export → Export Points. This is Ellity's balance snapshot — one semicolon-delimited row per customer: id;email;points;vip-tier;full-name;registration-date;referral-code.

You don't need to reformat anything. Charm auto-detects the semicolon delimiter (the European CSV convention Shoptet exports use) and the hyphenated column names — just export the whole file and hand it over. It's the only export Ellity offers, and it's all Charm needs.

Step 2: Pick the Ellity preset

Install Charm, then go to Settings → Data migration and choose Ellity from the platform picker. The preset knows the export's shape, so there's no field-mapping step — and it defaults create missing Shopify customers to on, because a Shoptet-to-Shopify move means most members are brand new to Shopify.

Step 3: Upload and read the dry-run

Drop the export in. Charm runs a dry-run automatically — no data is written yet, and nothing calls Shopify. You get:

• The balance per customer, from the snapshot (rounded; a negative balance is clamped to zero and flagged)
• How many Shopify accounts will be created vs. matched to an existing customer — the whole point of the create-accounts option, shown as a real count you can toggle
• A VIP tier mapping panel if your file carries tier names. Each distinct Ellity tier (say Bronzová, Stříbrná, Zlatá) gets a dropdown to route it to the matching Charm tier. Charm auto-selects an exact name match where one exists; leave a tier unmapped and those members still import, just without a tier — nobody is dropped.
• A flagged list for anything that needs a decision — a row with no email, a clamped balance, and so on

A note on the numbers: Ellity's export is a snapshot, so it carries current balances but no earn/redeem history. Charm shows "lifetime earned" as the current balance — an honest floor, since Ellity simply doesn't expose the history to reconstruct a true total.

Step 4: Import (nothing emails your customers)

When the preview looks right, run the import. Two properties matter here:

• It creates the accounts for you, silently. For every member with no Shopify customer yet, Charm creates one (using the name from the export, tagged migrated-ellity) — and account creation sends no invite email. Your customers don't get an "activate your account" blast; they just find their points waiting when they next log in.
• It's email-silent by construction. Migrated balances are written straight to the ledger, never through the points engine, so no "welcome" or "you earned points" emails and no Shopify Flow runs fire for the back-filled history. Importing your whole customer base does not blast a single inbox.

Migrated customers are tagged (migratedFrom: ellity) so they're excluded from your member-growth analytics, and each member's registration date from Ellity becomes their enrolment date in Charm — so your cohort history reflects when people actually joined, not launch day.

Step 5: Go live on Shopify

Because this is a replatform, cutover is really just launching your Shopify store with the loyalty surfaces already populated:

1. In Charm → Visibility → Storefront widget → on
2. In Charm → Visibility → Customer account hub → on
3. Launch the Shopify store (or flip it public if you were staging)
4. Send one comms email (template below)

There's no overlap window to manage and no old widget to remove — Ellity lived on Shoptet, which you're leaving. Members arrive on the new store to find their exact balances and tiers already there.

Step 6: Roll back if needed

Charm snapshots every customer's pre-import balance at the moment you import. Revert restores those balances, removes the job's ledger rows, and marks the job reverted. One safety detail worth knowing: revert does not delete the Shopify customer accounts it created — deleting real customer records automatically is too risky — it only undoes the loyalty side. So a revert is safe to run during your launch window without wiping the accounts you just brought over.

Land in a ready-made program, not a blank canvas

The other half of "a few clicks" is that you're not rebuilding your program from scratch on the other side. Charm installs with a sensible default program — an earn rate, a starter set of VIP tiers, a welcome reward, and the storefront + customer-account surfaces already wired up. You keep what fits, adjust the point value and tier thresholds to match what your customers knew on Ellity, and you're live. The migration drops your balances into a program that already works, rather than an empty shell.

A couple of Ellity-specific notes

• Points expiry resets to your new policy. Ellity's export doesn't carry per-point expiry dates, so Charm imports current balances and expiry runs on the policy you set in Charm going forward. If expiry matters to you, decide your Charm rule before launch — the imported balances start their clock under it.
• Referral codes travel as a note. Ellity has no standalone referral export, so any referral code on a row is folded into that customer's notes for reference rather than recreated as a live referral link. Set up Charm's own referral program fresh once you're live.
• One file, absolute balances. Because the export is a balance snapshot, re-importing the same file simply replaces balances with the file's values — it never double-counts. If you export again closer to launch to catch last-minute earning, just re-run the import.
