Charm + Vocato
Correct name declensions and name-day rewards — zero setup.
How it works
What you can do.
Vocato is a free companion app that maintains curated Czech, Slovak, and Polish name data — declensions and name days. Charm reads it to greet customers in the grammatically correct vocative and to power an automatic name-day reward. Install Vocato and Charm detects it on its own; there are no keys to enter and no fields to map.
- ✓Vocative greetings in the loyalty hub — "Ahoj, Jane" instead of "Ahoj, Jan" (Czech & Polish)
- ✓Name-day earning rule — auto-issue points or a discount on the customer's svátek / meniny / imieniny
- ✓Countdown card in the hub plus a dedicated name-day email on the day
- ✓Auto-detected on install — no API key, no field mapping, no setup screen
- ✓"Sync from Vocato" backfills correct greetings and name-day dates for existing customers
- ✓Curated data means graceful fallback: an unrecognized name keeps its plain form, never a wrong one
Setup
Five-minute setup.
- 1Install Vocato from the Shopify App Store (it's free)
- 2Charm detects it automatically — the vocative greeting switches on by default
- 3Add the name-day earning rule in Charm and set its points or discount
- 4Click "Sync from Vocato" once to backfill your existing customers
FAQ
Common questions.
Which languages does this cover?
Vocative greetings work in Czech and Polish; name-day rewards work for Czech, Slovak, and Polish calendars. Slovak keeps the plain name because modern Slovak has effectively dropped the vocative for names.
Is Vocato really free?
Yes. Vocato is a free companion app. Charm reads its public customer metafields with the customer-read permission it already has — nothing extra to authorize.
What happens to names Vocato doesn't recognize?
They fall back to the plain first name and no name-day reward is scheduled. Because the datasets are curated, Charm only personalizes when it's confident it's correct.
