Pay partners only for new customers

Some partner codes end up with people who already shop with you. You can now stop paying for those orders, stop giving those customers the discount, or both.

Commission only on a customer's first order. About two hours after each partner order, Charm asks Shopify whether the customer is new or returning, and looks for the buyer's phone among your other customers. That catches someone buying again under a new email address. A returning customer's order earns no commission. It stays on the partner's page marked as ineligible, and you can restore it.

Partner codes only for customers without a purchase. Shopify refuses the code at checkout for anyone with an earlier order, signed in or not, recognised by their account, email or contact phone. A phone entered only in the delivery address isn't checked, so the two settings work best together. Codes you've already issued follow straight away and keep their names.

Partners see both rules on their dashboard. You'll find the settings under Settings → Affiliate partners, and they stay off until you turn them on.
