Merge two customers in Shopify and the loyalty program follows

Same person, two accounts, points split across both. Shopify has always been able to merge the accounts; the loyalty data used to stay behind.

Shopify merges, Charm follows. Merge two customers in the Shopify admin and Charm moves the deleted profile's points, history, rewards, tier progress and referral record onto the profile you kept. Nothing to click. A merge that fails in Shopify changes nothing here, and a redelivered event can never add the same balance twice.

When Shopify won't merge, transfer the balance instead. Shopify refuses to merge a customer who holds store credit or an active subscription. For those, open the customer in Charm and use Transfer balance — type the target's email or customer ID, preview exactly what moves, confirm. The emptied profile is then excluded from the program, so nobody quietly earns on it again.

It spots a double-count before you do. If both profiles carry the same opening balance from the same migration, Charm says so and offers to keep the target's points rather than summing them — an import that landed twice doesn't turn into free points.

The automatic side needs a permission update, so approve the new access when Shopify prompts you in the admin.
